David possess over 30 years of seed and agribusiness experience working in Canada and internationally. This includes roles with Agrotain International, Delta and Pineland Company and numerous seed companies: Advanta Seeds, Zeneca Seeds, ICI Seeds, Garst Seed and Conti Seed.
Ron Brand, P.Ag
Director, Sales and Marketing
Ron graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. Ron started his career in Agriculture by working in the family business retailing fuel and fertilizer in the Saskatoon area for approximately nine years. Following university, Ron spent seven years in Sales and Marketing roles with Imperial Oil and United Grain Growers, followed by eight years managing the Grain Logistics team for United Grain Growers and Agricore United.
Gerry Cantin, CA
Chief Financial Officer
Gerry graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He received his Chartered Accountant designation from the CA firm of Clarkson Gordon. Gerry possesses over 21 years of experience in the Agriculture indsutry through his roles in accounting and finance for Landmark Feeds and Controller for the Terminal Devision of United Grain Growers.
Erin Armstrong, Ph.D
Director, Research and Development
Erin holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba and her Ph.D in Biochemistry from the University of Ottawa. She joined CANTERRA SEEDS after eight successful years as President and CEO for the Brewing and Malting Barley Research Institute (BMBRI). Prior to BMBRI Erin worked with Canada Malting Co., Ltd. and General Mills, Inc. She brings over 15 years experience working within the agriculture industry.
Brent Derkatch
Director of Operations
Brent graduated from the Olds College Seed and Grain Technology Program, and also holds a Certificate in Management from the University of Manitoba. Prior to becoming Director of Operations, Brent was Production Manager at CANTERRA SEEDS for five years. Previously, Brent worked at Brett Young Seeds where he held the position of Production Agronomist and Eastern North American Sales Manager.
